Corn Maze: The Stratocaster® guitar
This year’s maze is inspired by the beauty and artistry found in the shape of the Fender Stratocaster® guitar and the amazing music that has been generated from this unique instrument. The shape is eternally
futuristic, hugs the player’s body, all the while making the guitarist look and sound good.
We salute Leo Fender who engineered this fine instrument in1954 and the great musicians
who have coaxed the most out of it.

I would like to thank the following people who helped me with this year’s maze.
My oldest friend, Stuart Staley, drew from memory, a Stratocaster guitar on graph paper.
Without this, accuracy would have been compromised.
After I laid out the maze, my friend Laurie Selleck went up in the bucket of my tractor, as high as it would go, and tweaked the pattern I had already made. My neighbor and friend, Brian Coughlin was willing to go up in his plane 3 times. The last time he took another friend, Al Companie, who is a professional photographer for the Post Standard. Without the help of these people, I could not have offered the image that you see here.
Thank you!

Drawing that my old friend Stuart, made for me, that I used as a guide for laying out the maze.
