Welcome to Our Farm

Total Farm Experience For The Whole Family!

We are open to the public starting the weekend of October 6th from 1-5PM. We will be open every weekend and Columbus Day through the month of October (stand is open every day). There is a $5 admission charge that covers all activities (horse ride, hay ride, petting zoo, corn maze, catapult). The only additional charge would be for pumpkins or refreshments purchased. We are also available to school and other groups on weekdays by reservations. Call 655-8453 for week day group rates.

Our Farm is an award winning family farm that has been growing and selling farm fresh produce at a roadside stand since 1985.

We have an array of activities to offer school children during the week, and the public on the weekend during the month of October.

Last year Our Farm installed a 10 KW solar system that powers the farm. We look forward to many years of renewable power to help our farm and the planet at the same time. We also hope to use this to further educate the public on how a system like this looks and how it works.

Our Farm also introduced a new product last spring. Working with Nelson Farms, we now will offer our famous Rhubarb Sauce, Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce, and Cranberry Rhubarb Sauce with habanero at the farm. For more information go to rhubarbsauce.com.

Our barn serves as an indoor picnic area with educational displays. We can accommodate weekday groups of up to 125 at a time. For the 7th year, Boris, the trebuchet, will be throwing pumpkins, to the delight of the public. We've done a lot of work on Boris this year to get him ready for action. Click here to see this actually happen when a local newscaster came to see Boris. We hope you will come visit "Our Farm" this fall and every fall.

Our Farm Goes Solar

Our Farm has installed a 10 KW solar system. Currently the farm uses close to 10 KW per year. We found that we could make loan payments comparable to power bills for 7 or 8 years. That’s exactly what Justin Williams of CNY Solar did for us. He took advantage of numerous grant opportunities, did the leg work, and put up the system. In late August, the switch was flipped and Our Farm went Solar.

First consideration was this had to make sense for us to do financially.  We thought that having this system here, would provide a great teaching aid for the many school children and families that visit the farm annually. We also hope that it will create a draw for the farm. We also may use the power for future endeavors on the farm. And there’s a moral component to this as well. Going green is better for the planet.

This system takes advantage of “net metering”. This means that the grid is used as storage for excess power generated. There are no batteries. When more power is generated than used, the meter runs backward. And at night, it will run forward.

This years cornmaze - A Famous Rabbit

We have many famous rabbits in our culture. There's the White Rabbit in Alice and Wonderland, Peter the Rabbit, the Br're Rabbit, the Velveteen Rabbit, Roger Rabbit, the Energizer Bunny, the Tortoise and the Hare, Harvey, the Trix Rabbit, the Nesquick Rabbit, and the Easter Bunny. But my favorite rabbit, by far, is Bugs Bunny. Born in 1940 under Ebbets Field, in Brooklyn, NY, Bugs was at his peak in popularity during the years of Word War II. These and other interesting facts about Bugs and other rabbits, real and imagined, will be found while navigating through this year's corn maze.

Our New Wagon

After 25 years, we needed to replace one of our passenger wagons. We harvested some ash trees from our property, and had a portable mill make us up the lumber. We then proceeded to build what we think is the sturdiest, safest, passenger wagon we could build. And it is a dandy! Even if you aren't that impressed, if you see me (Jimmy), tell me what a nice wagon it is. It will make my day!
